My Borderline Personality Symposium speech received a standing ovation.

Clinicians, family members and those diagnosed with BPD watched as I described in detail my experiences with Borderline Personality Disorder including broken relationships, suicide attempts and legal battles. I described my darkest days with this illness and how I eventually received treatment and worked my way to full remission of symptoms! This speech was given one year into therapy. Experts speaking at this event included Dr. Anthony Bateman, who discovered Mentalization, an effective treatment for BPD, and Dr. John Oldham, a leader in treatment at The Menninger Clinic in Houston. Others included Dr. Perry Hoffman, founder of NEA-BPD, and Dr. Bob Friedel, author of "BPD Demystified."
